Case Study
The case study examines staffing and organizational challenges at Riverside Medical Center (RMC), highlighting issues such as nursing shortages, physician burnout, limited funding, poor communication across departments, and difficulties implementing DEI initiatives. It argues that stable, well supported staff are essential for effective hospital operations. The below solutions include offering scholarships to attract more nurses, improving work life balance and mental health resources for staff, securing additional funding through donors and grants, strengthening interdepartmental communication through regular coordinated meetings, and expanding DEI efforts with training and mentorship programs. While the plan will require large amounts coordination, cultural change, and financial planning, the case study believes that these steps would significantly improve staff retention, organizational efficiency, and overall patient care.
